熔融結晶器缺點/Disadvantages
結晶器的結構相對精餾塔來說，略復雜。需要發汗、洗滌等步驟。過程較復雜，過程的連續化較困難。

高選擇性、低能耗、操作溫度低、無溶劑、無廢液、無氣相。熔融結晶與精餾相比較，具有操作溫度低、所需能耗小等突出優點。除以上兩點外，第三點就是可以利用工廠里其它操作單元所產生的廢熱。因為現有的大部分有機化合物的熔點都在工廠廢熱溫度范圍內。

熔融結晶處理的是液態物質，液態相對于氣態而言，所需要的體積小，所用設備體積小，投資少。當然，如果熔融結晶需要長的停留時間時，則這點優勢就不明顯了。熔融結晶過程沒有氣體產生，泄露易于控制。而且整個設備可密閉，有利于環境安全。熔融結晶不需要添加任何物質，所以沒有廢液和其它化學物質（溶劑）產生。要知道，溶劑回收的成本往往占整個結晶成本的大部分。對于非固體溶液型體系，從理論上來說，結晶過程具有高的選擇性和高的產品純度。
